Our
Management Team operates under the leadership of a former Exxon International
Executive. He started
V.I.P.
over 16 years ago as a high volume, high speed reprographics service specializing
in corporate accounts. Since then the company has expanded to become
one of the largest electronic reprographics centers in New Jersey.
He has taken the techniques used in his successful rise at Exxon and applied
them to business operations at V.I.P.
Basil is a 1966 magna cum laude Graduate from C.C.N.Y. School of Engineering
and Architecture where he was elected to Tau Beta Pi (the National Engineering
Honor Society) and received the University's Distinguished Alumnus Award
for "Excellence in Scholarship." He also holds graduate degrees
in Engineering & Business.
Basil is an active participant in the N.Y./N.J. Minority Purchasing Council
because he believes that the Council is at the leading edge of a working
partnership between corporations and minority entrepreneurs. As a former
Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, he led a reorganization task
group of corporate members and entrepreneurs that resulted in a complete
restructuring of the Council's activities. He currently serves on Merrill
Lynch's Supplier Diversity Advisory Board. He continues limited involvement
on various boards and business groups and is also a church leader, public
speaker and lecturer.
In 2002 Basil was appointed Co-Chair of the Congressional Business Advisory
Council representing New Jersey. He was honored in March 2003 with the
N.J. Businessman-of-the-Year award, presented in Washington D.C. at the
annual tax summit.
